A+ Scholarship Program

The A+ Scholarship Program provides eligible Brentwood High School graduates with financial support to attend a participating Missouri public community college, career or technical school, or approved private two-year career or technical school. The scholarship helps cover the unpaid balance of tuition and general fees after all available, non-loan federal financial aid has been applied.

Because Brentwood High School is an A+ designated high school, students who meet all A+ requirements may qualify for this state-funded scholarship after graduation. Program requirements and award amounts are determined by the state and are subject to change each year.

Eligibility Requirements

Students can earn A+ eligibility by meeting the following state requirements during their time at Brentwood High School:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Sign an A+ written agreement with Brentwood High School prior to graduation.
  • Attend an A+ designated high school for at least two years before graduation.
  • Graduate with an unweighted GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  • Maintain at least a 95% attendance rate for grades 9-12.
  • Complete 50 hours of unpaid tutoring or mentoring, with up to 25% of those hours allowed as job shadowing when approved.
  • Maintain a record of good citizenship and avoid the unlawful use of drugs or alcohol throughout high school.

In addition, students must meet the A+ math requirement in one of the following ways:

  • Earn a score of proficient or advanced on the Algebra I end-of-course exam, or an approved higher-level math EOC, or

  • Meet a qualifying combination of Pre-ACT or ACT math subscore and cumulative GPA:

    • Math subscore 17 and GPA 2.5 or higher

    • Math subscore 16 and GPA 2.8 or higher

    • Math subscore 15 and GPA 3.0 or higher
