District Selects Next Principal of Brentwood High School

The Brentwood School District Board of Education voted on Dec. 16 to hire Dr. Greg Fick as the next principal of Brentwood High School, effective July 1, 2026. Dr. Fick brings more than 20 years of experience in education, with a strong background in secondary leadership, innovative program development and creating meaningful, real-world learning opportunities that prepare students for success beyond high school.

“Dr. Fick is a collaborative, student-centered leader who understands the importance of preparing students not just for graduation, but for what comes next,” said Dr. Amy Zielinski, superintendent of schools. “His experience expanding hands-on learning, career and technical education, and postsecondary pathways aligns closely with Brentwood’s vision for student success and future readiness.”

Dr. Fick currently serves as an assistant principal at Lindbergh High School, where he supports approximately 600 students and provides leadership for the school’s science, business, and technology and innovation departments. In this role, he has helped expand advanced coursework, strengthen professional learning communities and lead schoolwide initiatives focused on student engagement, equity and instructional excellence.

A key focus of Dr. Fick’s leadership has been the development of authentic, real-world learning experiences that connect classroom learning to college and career pathways. As coordinator for career and technical education initiatives, he played a central role in securing a $400,000 grant to launch a certified nursing assistant program that allows students to earn college credit and industry credentials. He has also helped introduce and expand programs in aviation, EMT, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship and internships — providing students with hands-on experiences and marketable skills while still in high school.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Fick helped launch and lead a Makerspace program at Webster Groves High School, where students engaged in design thinking, engineering and problem-solving across disciplines. He also taught Makerspace and entrepreneurship courses, guiding students through real-world business models that emphasized creativity, collaboration and accountability. His leadership consistently centers on student voice, choice and personalized learning.

“I am honored and excited to join the Brentwood community and serve as the next principal of Brentwood High School,” Dr. Fick said. “I believe deeply in creating learning environments where students are challenged, supported and empowered to explore their interests and define their own pathways — whether that leads them to college, career training, the workforce or beyond. I look forward to partnering with students, staff and families as we build on Brentwood’s strong foundation and continue preparing students for life after high school.”

Dr. Fick holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration, as well as multiple master’s degrees in education and educational leadership. He maintains Missouri principal certification and has served in leadership roles at both the high school and middle school levels. Throughout his career, Dr. Fick has been actively involved in equity initiatives, restorative practices and regional partnerships focused on real-world learning and student success.
