Brentwood Celebrates National Special Education Day

Today is National Special Education Day, a time to recognize the extraordinary work of the special education professionals who support our students each day. Their dedication, expertise and compassion ensure that all students—of every ability—have the opportunity to learn, grow and succeed.

In Brentwood, this commitment comes to life through our strong and unified partnership with the Special School District of St. Louis County. Together, our Brentwood educators and SSD teachers, paraprofessionals, specialists and therapists work side by side as one team to provide comprehensive, high-quality services for students right here in our schools.

From specialized instruction to speech-language services, occupational and physical therapy, academic interventions, and behavioral or social-emotional needs, these services are fully integrated and tailored to each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP). Whether in small-group settings or within the general education classroom, our shared goal is simple: to help every student access the curriculum, build their strengths and feel a true sense of belonging.

We are incredibly grateful for the SSD staff who serve our schools and for our Brentwood teachers and support professionals who collaborate so seamlessly with them. Your work not only supports student success—it strengthens our entire community.

Thank you for all that you do to champion inclusion, empower students and ensure every learner has the opportunity to reach their full potential!
